
Angela Adler
Dr. Angela Adler has been disabled since childhood and was lucky enough to grow up in disability-inclusive communities. Because anyone can have a disability at any point, Dr. Adler is motivated to bring disability inclusion to as many spaces and communities as possible. Dr. Adler feels most at home living, working, and socializing among people with disabilities.

Dr. Adler’s education focused on disability studies in various disciplines. Dr. Adler holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Masters in Anthropology and Social Change from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and a Bachelor’s in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh, with an emphasis on social and emotional factors in rehabilitation and disability. Dr. Adler was fortunate to be mentored by international disability rights leader Judy Heumann. Dr. Adler also brings interdisciplinary education and work experience to the day program – Dr. Adler is an entrepreneur who has also been a professional baker, an actor and theater director, a digital media creator, and a community organizer, in addition to consulting, public speaking, conducting trainings, and holding executive positions.

Dr. Adler’s spare time is occupied with coaching middle-school soccer and basketball, volunteering, supporting the local community, singing, fiber arts, and taking walks and hikes.
