    Shadowfax NEWs 10.07.25 Celebrating 40 years of Shadowfax This year, The Shadowfax Corporation proudly celebrated our 40th anniversary, marking four decades of supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism throughout York County. The celebration highlighted four decades of dedicated service, growth, and community inclusion. The anniversary festivities included a special open house event showcasing our newly renovated space, where guests enjoyed art, activities, and opportunities to connect with staff, clients, families, and supporters. The atmosphere was joyful and reflective, with many attendees taking the time to celebrate how far Shadowfax has come and the positive impact it has made in people’s lives. Our new logo is a symbol of unity, collaboration, optimism, and empowerment — and represents hope of an even brighter future for the individuals we support. 12.13.24 Shadowfax is expanding! In keeping with our commitment to promote empowerment and inclusion, Shadowfax is excited to announce we are transforming the way Day Supports are provided. Effective July 1, 2025, Shadowfax will eliminate subminimum wage contract work for individuals with disabilities (14c of the Fair Labor Standards Act). Alternatively, we will continue to expand opportunities through Community Integrated Employment (CIE), volunteering, and relationship development.     Ben Fierer Ben Fierer is firm believer that all people should be given equal opportunities to experience the world in which they live. He is a licensed social worker and has worked as a specialized therapist for 2 years. His philosophy of supports is formulated from both his education and his experiences in the field related to viewing services through a lens of Social Role Valorization. He has worked in a variety of positions in the field supporting people with intellectual disabilities and autism for over 26 years. Ben started as a Direct Support Professional and has worked in many supervisory positions, primarily within residential services. He also worked as a bench jeweler for multiple years and taught Jewelry and Metal Design at a local community college. Ben enjoys exploring new foods, reading, sitting with his dog, and spending time with friends.
